Uncle Buck's Ice Creamery
Uncle Buck's Ice Creamery
It might be small but there’s no going past the striking, lip smacking deliciousness of Uncle Buck’s ice creamery inside the Buckley’s Entertainment Centre at 54 Fellmongers Road, Breakwater, in the City of Greater Geelong.
Curved walls dripping with Willy Wonka appeal act as a magnet for children lured by the fun of customising their own soft serve delight.
Underpinning the fantasy world of sweet treats is a kaleidoscope of Gerflor vinyl flooring that Grant Aitken, with his team of Building Design Consultants from DWH Aitken and Associates, describes as the foundation of their design aesthetic.
“The floor is going to be the key to attracting people from the bistro into the ice creamery. Gerflor offered the best colour selection on the market. We have used six different colours and created curved and circular features with the vinyl. Vinyl gave us the flexibility we needed in our pattern and colour. It is hard wearing and this floor is not something that we want to change in the next five or 10 years. There will be all sorts of lollies and ice cream spilt over it and we don’t want kids slipping or falling.”
Mr. Aitken is delighted to add this creative project to DWH Aitken and Associates portfolio as it celebrates 52 years in business in 2018.
“Our client is ecstatic with the outcome and they have had great response from customers and supporters. We appreciate Todd’s (Lisson) and the Gerflor team’s assistance with this project,” Mr. Aitken said.
